Chris |
Lord of Pedro and the guild master of the Giant Guild.
Information[]
Chris' external image was very excellent. A man who devoted himself silently to the limitations of a normal class. His achievements, serious personality, and masculine appearance meant he won the favor of many people. He was a hero in his home country, Canada, and he was very popular abroad. He was a rare icon of goodwill where his recognition and popularity were directly proportional. Chris is famous as a "wooden stone".[37]
Personality[]
Chris was a top ranker. Among the two billion players, his power was at the top, and he had great experience running a large guild. Since he had many faithful subordinates and was a tycoon in the pursuit of founding a country, his actual pride was very high. Yet he faithfully followed Grid no matter the circumstances.
Was it because Grid's power transcended Chris's? No, humans weren't animals. They didn't simply give in to power. The biggest reason Chris followed Grid was his absolute trust in Grid's nature. As Grid grew, Chris genuinely came to respect Grid's attitude that abandoned his arrogance and looked around. Chris always felt the desire to stand at the top with this man.[38]
Chris views Grid as an idol, and later Agnus as his ultimate rival, to provide his worth as a greatsword normal rated class player.[39]
Chris rejected eight epic classes and three unique classes that he discovered just because they were not related to using a greatsword.
Story[]
Chapter 84[]
After examining the unknown craftsman's work, he sends his guild members to scout for him.
First Satisfy National Competition[]
Chris participated in both events Boss Raid and Labyrinth Breakthrough. As the leader of the largest guild, the Canadian had excellent leadership and succeeded in the boss raid after the United States. He also broke through the labyrinth. Based on his overwhelming combat power, he was able to defeat other rankers and break through the labyrinth after Bondre.
Chris predicted it the moment the PvP event began the opponent he will meet in the finals is Grid.
Chris used a greatsword. He was able to handle a greatsword much better than Grid. He didn't think he would be defeated in a frontal match. If he used his ultimate greatsword strike, he could deal a deadly blow to Grid. Chris had much better techniques than Grid and could overpower him. He was determined to beat Grid, the 'Butcher' who smashed the Giant Guild in the past.
However, there was a presence who blocked him in the round of 16. It was an opponent he didn't consider at all. The British representative, Regas, armed with his Lightning Duke's Knuckles, defeated Chris in PvP.
Belial Raid[]
Chris participated in the Belial Raid as Earl Chris arriving from Pedro to take Reinhardt with the Overgeared Guild forces.
Because of enemy compatibility issues (succubus, magician-type Belial), he could not enter the top 10 places, however, as a participant, Chris received the title Savior of the World alongside the rewards: five of each Belial's Black Jewel (C) and Belial's Red Jewel (C) and ten Belial's Hard Skin.
Chapter 697[]
When Grid asks about how to acquire Sword Energy, Chris suggests he use Fighting Energy instead.
Chapter 719-722[]
He participates in the Cray raid alongside his guild members. Grid gives Chris Yetima's Greatsword.
Chapter 747-748[]
During the Battlefield event, he teams up with Lauel, but is beaten by Grid.
Chapter 761[]
Later, he participates in the Breaking the Hero event, beating it in 19 minutes.
Elves and Elementals[]
Chris was summoned with Jishuka, Pon, Regas and Jude to fight Baron Kir's 3 knights to save the captured elves. He is alerted by Grid of eventual NPCs cultivated to lessen his office work to allow more EXP hunting. Later the World Tree gave a great blessing to the current Overgeared Guild, an elemental contractee benefit. Chris' second class Tyrant induced a contract with an intermediate earth elemental. He also confessed his 'love' to Grid.
[All lower elementals have felt the qualities of a tyrant and have run away.]
[The intermediate earth elemental promises to govern your rough nature.]
Chris and other contracted Overgeared members stayed in the forest to hunt ancient species bear-wolves to gain EXP, also leaving Mercedes and Jude behind. The two knights will take responsibility for the safety of the guild members when they're hunting and growing together in the forest.
Galgunos Temple[]
Chris, Pon and Regas solo raid their own follower and other undead in the Galgunos Temple to improve and earn EXP to level+1 before the Fourth Satisfy National Competition. However, due to the presence of Grid in the labyrinth dungeon, the followers became agitated and alert. For Chris, the followers that can counterattack his commonly useful 10-Ton Sword skill made him weary.
Later Grid formed a party with the three to raid the followers for a week. Chris' heavy sword neutralized the followers for a second, and Regas was able to strike at all the joints of the followers thanks to the Dantalian's Knowledge Fragment that Grid had given him. Meanwhile, Pon's sharp attacks dealt serious blows to the followers. Every time Grid swung the glowing Enlightenment Sword, the war god followers lost a significant amount of health. The party members could then concentrate on their role as supporters without worry. They focused solely on neutralizing the followers so that counterattacks couldn't be used.
Galgunos used his power instead of dispatching soldiers, and Grid's party died. They were inevitable deaths. Grid's party gained new information that raiding the intermediate boss of the first floor of the temple would mean 'unconditional death.' Chris, Pon, and Regas judged that the Galgunos Temple was a dungeon that shouldn't be attacked. Chris and trio acted they were fine with the over 25% EXP loss, however, were inwardly bothered because of their pride.
Fourth Satisfy National Competition[]
Chris participated in PvP. The contestants for the round of eight included Yura, Pon, Regas, Damian, Chris, Zibal, Seuron and Bubat. In the semi-finals, Zibal met Chris and instantly summoned the magic machine. Against Raiders riding Zibal, Yetima's Greatsword wielding Chris couldn't withstand the constant Raiders bombardment as the PvP stage was destroyed. He died pierced by Raiders' spear.
He participated in the Demon King Subjugation event in Group A, which also contained Kraugel, Pon, and Regas. They fought and lost the initial round against the Heavenly King East Gate Guardian Cardin (Piaro). Kraugel was being beaten by a rain of seafood. Small shells exploded simultaneously and fired sharp shell pieces, sealing Kraugel's movements. Then crab claws pinched Kraugel's Achilles' heels. The 1st ranked Chris was struggling while trapped in fishnets, and Regas and Pon were rolling around on the mudflat like it was a Mud Festival. Chris became frustrated once he realized the identities of the four heavenly kings and the Demon King. It was an incredible attitude. He was more afraid of Grid than the fisherman in front of him. The second round was with an effective raid strategy, killing Cardin.
Against the Demon King, Chris became the raid vanguard commander. As a damage dealer, Chris swapped between Grid's Greatsword and Yetima's Greatsword while activating the power of a Tyrant. This made his strength comparable to Grid's. He also witnessed the might of Grid's Eyes and Raiders copy. In the end, Chris was wiped out when Grid narrowed the distance to Chris and grabbed him, using Valhalla's Impregnable. Chris watched with the other defeated rankers the PvP between returned Overgeared King Grid and Sword Saint Kraugel. He used an analogy between the two as car drivers, with Grid's car being a Ferrari that suddenly upgraded to a Bugatti.
Canada took second in the overall rankings thanks to Chris, who won one gold medal and one silver medal in the Demon King's Subjugation.[40]
Evil Eyes Defense[]
Chris and Jishuka were the co-commanders of the mission to defend the Evil Eyes' Village and demonkin from Saharan Empire's secret assault. The 10 meritorious retainers participated in the month long defense.[41]
Members of the Overgeared Guild were fighting all over the place and all of them were breaking their limits due to the extreme circumstances.
War with the Empire[]
Chris initially participated in the Overgeared-Saharan War with the previous Giant Guild members for over 2 months as a Commander and Duke of Reidan due to the increased experience rate for players in the 'war system'.[42] He was surprised by Yura's start to pioneer her own path as a Demon Slayer with Hell Leap in the desert. Commander Chris later saved Noll in the desert from the Drunk Duke Diworth with the aid of Kasim and the Overgeared members, witnessing Diworth 'simple' strength.[43]
Ruins of the Martial God[]
Chris accompanied as part of meritorious retainers, Hurent and Grid to the Ruins. During the sea voyage, Chris and others obtained 2 Delicious Piece of Octopus Legs each, gaining 1.0 stat point. He later improved his combat experience by fighting the Followers at the 1st gateway of the Ruins and even gained a White Peach. Chris also witnesses the moment of the first Third Class player.
Berith Raid[]
[Chris and Jishuka have obtained the raid's 10th place prize.]
For raid rewards, Chris obtained a small number of blessed weapon enhancement stones and blessed armor enhancement stones, with at least 1 Berith's Mane.
Chris also received an enhancement to the title Savior of the World, the effect changing from all stats +200 to +300 instead.
Protagonist of Two Eras[]
He witnesses the true strength and battle between Immortal King Grenhal and King of Shadows Kasim, acknowledging his low ability and power to truly standby Grid. The fact was that players had no limits. Their weakness was merely a lack of effort. Apart from Yura and Faker, everyone owned territory. Yet on this day, all of them gave up their territories, returning the rights of a lord. They broke the shackles holding them. The 10 meritorious retainers, who had many responsibilities, were now able to focus on their personal growth.
Chris' Lord of Reidan seat was temporarily taken over by Zednos.
Fifth National Competition[]
Before the Fifth Satisfy National Competition, Chris and the 10 meritorious retainers (teleported by Braham) participated in a defense quest raid against yangbans attempting to interrupt the revival of the God Red Phoenix. After the raid, the Cho King, the people of the Cho Kingdom, Hera and the players, and even the 10 meritorious retainers, were staring at Grid silently with a bemused expression because Grid was revered by a god.
Chris aimed alongside other Overgeared member participants of the National Competition to obtain sacred creature byproduct (breaths) rewards to give to Grid to create new battle gear.
Chapter 1331-1332[]
As Agnus was passing by, Chris encounters him. He tries to beat Agnus, but ends up dying.
Chapter 1356[]
While Drasion is distracted, he attacks.
Chapter 1392[]
Chris defeated Damian in the 4th round of PvP and later won the gold.
Chapter 1502[]
He leaves behind some soldiers while he heads to the Abyss.
Chapter 1544 - Tzudan's Successor[]
Level 450+ Chris unintentionally became a Legend with opening the legendary class change book Legendary Fighter Tzudan's Diary. He breaks his long-term stable image due to the sudden class change and Chris had only less than 50 levels to reach level 500. He regains to level 60 after an hour following the 'bus' Grid.[44] He is level 90 before the Abyss entered a temporary lull.[45]
Chapter 1550[]
Chris obtains an ego item greatsword made by Grid that contains Tzudan's soul.
Chapter 1621[]
A year IRL after his class change to Tzudan's Successor, Chris surpassed level 400.
Chapter 1700[]
Chris almost restored his level after focusing on his personal activities.
No Offspring Tomb[]
Over level 500, Chris went to the No Offspring Tomb with Zibal, Haster and Hurent.[46] Excluding Chris, the other three were too cautious because four of them were previously Grd's 'sandbags', making Chris depressed during the travel.[47]
Notes[]
- In Chapter 567, Chris was referred to as Earl, but later he was again a Viscount. Due to the destruction of Pedro by the Golem army, Earl was very unlikely.
