Demon King's Subjugation

Introduction

Demon King's Subjugation is a competition event of the Satisfy National Competition, first presented in the fourth edition. It is a cooperation event, in which all players work in teams to defeat the Demon King and his four heavenly king, each will defend one of the four gates of the castle.

S.A Group determined that the Demon King Subjugation event is suitable for the purpose of 'a competition that joins players together'.

The Demon King's Subjugation was an event designed to force the demon king to lose. Even if only one participant broke through the gates of the four heavenly kings and entered the demon king's castle, all dead participants would be resurrected. The demon king had to face approximately 400 National Competition participants. It was intended to stimulate the audience's nerves, but it was almost physically impossible for the demon king to win.

Every time the demon king and four heavenly kings win, the demon king will get a medal. To hide the demon king's identity, the NPCs', pets' and skill's appearance and effect will be changed. The chosen demon king will have 3 months to prepare for the event.

The event was designed after Baal's Contractor's uniqiue aspect: strongest in war to massacre many, with its NPCs (Great Demon equivalent demons) or pets (undead).

General Mechanics

• A player who has been the demon king once can't do it again.
• The role of the demon king will be assigned to a qualified top ranker.
• Unlike most of the named NPCs in Satisfy having a gold name, the name 'Demon King' was a deep red color with gold framing.
• The four heavenly kings must be the user's NPCs or pets. The four heavenly kings will have varying health correction according to their level.
• The ultimate goal is to defeat the demon king.
• Up to 15 medals can be earned: 5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze by the participants.
• The demon king waits in a castle with four gates, to the north, south, east and west. The gatekeepers guarding each gate are the four heavenly kings. The gates would never open until the four heavenly kings fall.
• Once the demon king's area has been accessed, any participant dying there will be logged out unless resurrection skills occur.
• The participants must defeat the four heavenly kings in groups. Each gate is classified as an instant dungeon and the dungeon is restricted to a group. Once all four kings have fallen and the gates opened, they will have access to the corridor leading to the demon king. (Derived. Generalized.)
• If one of the four gates fail the attacked, another party should take over instead. The party members who failed will be left as dead and resurrected once the gate is opened. Even if only one participant broke through the gates of the four heavenly kings and entered the demon king's castle, all dead participants would be resurrected to fight against the demon king together. There is no concept of disqualification unless all four parties are wiped out.
• While the groups are fighting the heavenly kings, the demon king will wait in the castle and receive 500,000 bonus health for every 10 minutes that passes. The waiting time would end when all four gates are broken. This rule was modified for the first demon king due to Grid's quality as an equivalent Named Boss monster.
• Once every group is wiped out in the four heavenly kings stage, they would have the opportunity to resurrect and re-challenge. The health of the four heavenly kings will be completely restored. However, their skill cooldown time will remain, and their stats will drop by 30%. If the second challenge fails, the bronze medal rewards will be removed from the gold, silver, and bronze medal rewards. If the third challenge fails, the silver medal rewards will be removed from the gold and silver medal rewards. If the fourth challenge fails, the gold medal rewards will be removed and the rankers are deemed to have lost the event.
• Before the re-challenge, the participants will be given 20 minutes to have a meeting. During this time, the cooldown time of the four heavenly kings is frozen in place. The demon king's accumulated health buff and other timed activities (skill cooldown time, blacksmithing work, etc.) are also stopped.
• The previous demon king would appear in the first match of PvP. If the former demon king didn't appear in PvP, then an event match with them would be held (except when they didn't participate in the National Competition). It was a type of courtesy toward the strongest, who proved their skills and became qualified to be the demon king.

Fourth Satisfy National Competition

Specific Mechanics

• Demon King: Overgeared King Grid
  • He had long black hair, three horns on the forehead, red eyes shining behind the grey mask, two wings, hands that were bigger than his face, and nails as sharp as blades. With an upright posture, the Demon King was both arrogant and intimidating. The mouth under his mask seemed to be smiling, and the players felt like they were being treated as insects.
• Four Heavenly Kings: 1. Benz (Mercedes), 2. Cardin (Piaro), 3. Vin (Asmophel) and 4. Kobold (Noll).
• The four heavenly kings do not receive any health correction.
• Only 3~4 players of each country could participate.
• The 400 participants must defeat the four heavenly kings in groups of 100. (previously 120)
• While the participants are fighting the heavenly kings, the demon king would wait in the castle and receive 200,000 bonus health for every 10 minutes that passed.
• Grid had only three months to improve his NPCs and prepare before the National Competition.

Fifth Satisfy National Competition

• Demon King: Damian (Zombie Demon King)
  • The white-haired man wearing a helmet that seemed to be made out of a dragon's skull was praying earnestly.
• Four Heavenly Kings: Rebecca's Daughters (Isabel, Rin, Luna) and Archangel Sariel (Templar).

Sixth Satisfy National Competition

• Demon King: Faker (Shadow Demon King)
  • The Demon King melted into the shadows and was invisible. People couldn't guess the identity of the demon king this year. It was natural. This year's Demon King, Faker, had never participated in the National Competition. It was hard to think of the name Faker.
  • This year’s demon king who used the shadows of everything as weapons and soldiers brought a great shock to the people. The sight of the shadow army, that rose again and again no matter how many times they were knocked down, and how they killed players, was overwhelming.
• Four Heavenly Kings: Eclipse, Overgeared Shadows.
• Players couldn't break through the four castle doors guarded by shadow knights and soldiers.
