Information[]
Earl's Son-in-law is a great title since it increases all stats by 20 and adds the Nobility stat. If all of a users stats are given 20 points and the user has 10 in total, it would be a total of 200 stat points, which is worth 20 levels for a normal user. But most importantly, the road is open to be an aristocrat. It would also be wonderful to have a beautiful aristocratic lady as a bride.[1] The earl's son-in-law can even realistically imagine becoming a lord with the own territory, where he could get revenue from users and NPCs every month as a landlord.[2]

How to Obtain[]
Achievement[]
- Marry an earl's daughter, for example Irene.[3] If the affinity reaches the maximum, a user can possibly marry an npc. In other words, an user would be the husband of the lady of a territory, and an earl's son-in-law.[4]
Quest Clear Reward (Low Probability)[]
- Rescue the Earl's Esteemed Daughter - gives the title with a low probability.

- Chapter 5 confirms that Earl's Son-in-law is a title.
- Grid originally had a low probability of becoming the Earl's Son-in-law by the quest Rescue the Earl's Esteemed Daughter, but with Doran's death and the simultaneous 'rescue of Irene,' he has been given a safe option. Otherwise, Grid's 'famous luck' would strike.
- The appointment of Grid to Viscount[7] is not part of the title, but it is a consequence of the title, which is hinted in the last sentence of the description. It is important to note that the system messages of appointment mention 'Earl Steim's son-in-law' which differs from the title. The mentioned authority to rule a territory and to command soldiers should be just a shortcut. This distinguishes a high-ranking official or lord as mentioned in the description. In addition, Grid himself said before being appointed in the same chapter that he is only the husband of the lady, not a noble. And how the description states that Grid is treated like a viscount is not the same as being a viscount. A viscount is a noble and must not only be treated like one. Earl Steim also asked if Grid would like to have the 'title' Viscount and it is therefore not an integral part of the title Earl's Son-in-law. Someone has all the effects of a title or that person does not have the title.
- The title was never listed in Grid's status windows.[8] In other words, Grid should have lost the title Earl's Son-in-law between receiving and the first status window after it. The same applies to the effects of the title. Grid's status window had never listed the Nobility stat. Also the increase for all stats is not given in any status window as it is with other titles, for example see chapter 1249 or under Grid's Level.
- There are at least 2 theories when and why the title must have been lost. The order is by chapter number:
- The first theory is that Grid lost the title because he was appointed directly to a Viscount.[9] Why should he be treated as a Viscount as stated in the description if he has the status of a Viscount? Of course, there is also the question of why the title had to be emphasized one chapter earlier. Moreover, it was also mentioned that Grid received every month the salary of Earl's Son-in-law and Viscount, which argues against the theory. This would have to be considered a mistake by Grid or the author. An error on Grid's part is more likely, because the narrator need not reveal that Grid is mistaken.
- The second theory is that Grid lost the title when Earl Steim was appointed to Marquis, but Grid became Duke before him.[10] Logically, the title should change or be lost. Marquis's Son-in-law would still be lower than Grid's status as Duke. On the other hand there is a status window of Grid that Grid must have lost the title before.[11] One would have to assume a mistake by the author but that makes theory 1 more convincing. The second theory can be extended to Grid's coronation as king. Marquis Steim would have to be king and Grid duke for Grid to receive the title 'King's son-in-law', as he would marry a king's daughter. In fact it was the other way round, Grid was the king and Steim was appointed Duke. Does Duke Steim carry the title King's Father-in-law? Who knows, but titles are rewards of achievements, and rewards are not rewards if they are rendered worthless by other titles and status.
