During the Yatan Church's Invasion of Bairan, Neberius, the Dark Magician, was introduced as a bearer of the title Great Magician and the characteristics were described.[1]
Information[]
The existence of a Magician who can cast the top magic of each attribute is called a Great Magician by the world. There are many magicians who deal with magic of all attributes. But they cannot use top attribute specific magic, unlike the magicians who concentrate on one attribute.[2] Magician with the title Great Magician can use magic power of different attributes, as well as a wide variety of them.[3] The really difficult double casting of two spells at the same time is one area of great magicians. Maybe this is why the title is almost exclusive property of NPCs[4], who complete two magic spells simultaneously with the mind and mouth.[5] They can mix two A-grade spells with different attributes which exerts more power than a single A-grade spell. It is still significantly less powerful than S-grade magic but even a great magician cannot cast S-grade spells in an instant during a fight.[6] The fourth stage expansion of the Mana Core is also an area only available to great magicians.[7]
10 Great Magicians on the Continent[]
10 Great Magicians on the Continent is an affiliation that appears several times in the novel but is not explained in detail. From the context, this means probably all known and active great magicians of the present. But can also mean the 10 best magicians.[8] Whatever the case, the title and the affiliation are two separate entities.[9]
Even the prince of a kingdom cannot afford to go against a great magician. It is the same in the empire.[10]
Description[]
(The actual game description is not available in the novel.)
Known Characters[]
10 Great Magicians on the Continent[]
- Ashur[11] - the lord of the Fortified City of Patrian.
- Tallos†[12] - posed as the First Servant of God Yatan, for Amoract, the true First Servant.
- Goldhit - one of the Five Pillars of the Saharan Empire and former student of Braham's disciple Lilis.
- Borell†[13] - was a marquis of the Saharan Empire.
- Ricilia[14] - A person who confronted Goldhit. A loyalist who already served three emperors, he was also the sage who noticed the experiments taking place in the Tower of Eternity and insisted that it be closed. He is also the Master of the White Tower.
Other Great Magicians[]
- Neberius[15]
- Braham - is said to have obtained the title after the 100 years of banishment from the Vampire Clan.[16]
- Jessica[17]
- Pauld[18]
- ¿Grid? - is said to have the title, but it may also be due to the fact that he had the legendary second class Great Magician.[19]
Notes[]
- Ashur is mentioned earliest as a great magician, but it is unclear whether the title or something else is meant.[20] The earliest mention of Great Magician as a title with a bearer of the title was related to Neberius.[21]
- Euphemina is often mistaken as being a great magician, although she is not yet one.[22]
- Braham as a great magician does not seem to have the title in his status window. Maybe one has to be among the 10 Great Magicians on the Continent to have the title.

- ↑ Chapter 154 | The chapter is the earliest mention of Great Magician as a title and at the same time it gives an example. In particular, the chapter highlights the qualities of Neberius as a great magician. Chapter 2 mentions Ashur as great magician, but does not define what great magician means. Above all, great magician is not mentioned as a title. The only earlier alternative mentions of great magician as a title would be in connection with Euphemina and that would be an even worse example which would only be a hypothetical example.
