Information[]

Kesan Canyon is to the south of Winston[1] and is a huge canyon in the north that boasts more scenic views than the Grand Canyon. There is a cool scenery with beautiful views that cannot even seen in movies.[2] From the entrance following the river upwards through the curved walls[3], on the north cliff at the end of the canyon is the sacred place Loran's Falls from which common people have only heard about in rumors.[4] The canyon is a rare landscape in Satisfy and would be a famous tourist attraction. However, it is not a tourist spot.[5] As a place that boasts more spectacular views than anywhere on Earth, never be deceived by outward appearances. It is a very dangerous place.[6]

Kesan Canyon is considered one of the worst areas in the north. The terrain of the sinuous canyon is hard to move in. No matter how one looks, there is no one in the wide canyon. Not even animals can be found. It is calm except for the sound of the wind[7] which blows through the curved walls that stretch as high as the sky.[8] The cliffs on both sides are so high that they give the impression that the sky is covered. This causes an ominous and fearful atmosphere. It will make people feel nervous, as if they want to get out of here and hasten their pace, while their expressions gradually become stiffer. One does not look around in the scenery anymore and just walks forward.[9]

Only travelers who are not from the north and does not know how dangerous the north is would fall into a trap designed by Goblins in the Snowfield and get lost here on their way from Amsland to Winston. Nobody dares to enter Kesan Canyon if they know for sure that they will die within a few minutes. The real problem are the hundreds and thousands of large and small caves that exists in the towering cliffs. Travelers will hear bizarre sounds from the caves that sound like the cries of beasts, or the laughter of a person.[10] Monsters and mysterious creatures with fearful levels are hiding in caves all over the canyon and immediately expose themselves at the discovery of travelers. They have a minimum level of 160.[11] Even with superior stats and level people are not safe from them and will be helpless in front of the canyon monsters. It is wiser to minimize encounters with them if hunting is not the objective.[12]

If you does not move carefully, you will be like a rat in a trap. Terrible things will keep appearing in dreams of victims. The monsters of Kesan Canyon are incredibly grotesque and weird in both their appearance and inclination. Among them the Canyon Spider is the one that will be vividly remembered. The appearance of a gigantic shadow with eight legs descending along the curved walls, the shock and horror of being trapped in a spider web and not being able to move when the mouth of a giant spider nears to eat people alive are some of the things that create a lot of fear. After experiencing so much horror, one will only be able to sleep by defeating Kesan Canyon.[13] The lucky ones either starve to death or commit suicide by logging out before being eaten.[14] There is the speculation that the monsters of the canyon lives in caves because they are protecting themselves from the Canyon Spider.[15]

The canyon is rightly one of the five forbidden zones of the prior Eternal Kingdom and it is risky to come here.[16] Kesan Canyon has the features of a deep canyon with rough winds and a steep slope that quickly wears down the traveler's Stamina. Movement is not possible for long and one quickly falls into a critical state from exhaustion.[17] The terrain will cause small cuts that burn the skin. The flow of the river is strong and falling in it would make people drown.[18] Suffering under such conditions, death is near. Either one is stabbed by a tail, killed by a tail, stunned, trampled and even eaten. It is a place where items and experiences will be lost and even the mental state will be shattered.[19] The place where the monsters are terrible and monstrous is infamous even among high-level users because they could lose their lives without even knowing it.[20]

Grid had gone to the canyon to find a clue for Earl Ashur's quest, and died more than 10 times so that he knows the general tendencies and attributes of the monsters.[21] There is also the destination of his first class quest Pagma's Swordsmanship, the north cliff with Loran's Falls where a witness carved pictures of the swordsmanship.[22] Grid met Piaro here twice who was hiding here after he was announced as a traitor of the Saharan Empire and changed his life to become the Legendary Farmer.[23] Piaro hid in a small cave at the end of the canyon.[24]
