As Grid struggles against the Golden Crowns on the 51st island of the Behen Archipelago, Braham's Soul offers help to Grid if he accepts the quest.

Description[]

[Legendary Great Magician]

★ Hidden Quest ★

Braham has failed to recover his original body. He wants to stay in a safe space until he recovers his exhausted magic power, and has chosen your body as that space.

If you accept Braham's soul, you will gain a powerful force.

Quest Acceptance Reward: 50% increase in affinity with Braham. The legendary second class 'Legendary Great Magician' will be acquired.

Quest Acceptance[]

Once Grid accepted Braham's soul for up to 4 years in Satisfy time, he was able to share and communicate his thoughts with Braham. Braham was not able to control the body unless Grid explicitly allows it. Both were judged as one by the system and the class of Braham's soul, 'Legendary Great Magician,' counted as a second class of Grid. Since it was the second legendary class, Grid received the title Glimpsed the Myths. However, the class had not become the second class in Grid's status window. The status window displayed a 'second class' Conditional Great Magician[1] and only under the active skill Assimilation the class Great Magician.[2] There are hints that the reason is the low Intelligence of Grid. For this reason he has failed to learn Braham's magic completely.[3] As a result, half of the stat points every time the level goes up were forced to be invested in intelligence in order to provide Braham's soul with steady magic power and restore it, as well as to master Braham's Enhanced Magic.

Quest Result[]

The quest 'succeeded.'[4]

After the second encounter between Braham and Mumud, Braham pretended to have recovered. If the quest was not complete, Grid would have noticed the pretense immediately. Only later did Grid find it out.[5] As a reward Braham leaves his complete magic formulas, which can be learned with enough Intelligence.[6] Grid must also be received the second class Great Magician.[7] The Soul of a Great Magician Who Lost his Power is the later continuation of the recovery.

System Messages[]

[Six stat points will be forcibly invested into intelligence every time your level goes up.]

[The skill 'Assimilation' has been generated.]

Notes[]

  • In the description there is no indication that the legendary second class Legendary Great Magician is temporary. However, Grid refers directly to it when he received the quest. Therefore the author probably omitted parts of the description that Grid knows.
  • Grid has obviously received a second class through the quest because he received a bonus of two stat point every time he levels up[8], even after completing the quest.[9]
  • If the quest would really give the legendary second class 'Legendary Great Magician' to Grid, it would be questionable why the first class Pagma's Descendant would be changed to the class Great Magician through the Assimilation skill that was received by acceptance. Why should the first class become an obviously worse class when there is a better second class of the same field? However, two possibilities can be derived with this question. Depending on the case, either the second class must be Legendary Great Magician without needing the skill Assimilation or an undisclosed second class that is worse than the class Great Magician. Grid is obviously with his Assimilation skill the latter case. As a possible reason, the lack of intelligence can be cited. Accordingly, Grid could not receive the promised class.
  • With the acceptance a system message says that Grid has become one with Braham's soul. However, the system message also appears when using the skill Assimilation. In other words, Grid could not become one with Braham's soul for some unexplained reason. Otherwise Grid with Braham's soul would not be one with the use of assimilation again. Being one would then be a continuous state as long as Braham's soul is present. The Assimilation skill's system message would be obsolete. Here too, Grid's lack of intelligence can be cited as a possible reason. Why they did not become one can also serve as an explanation why Grid did not receive the promised class without the active Assimilation skill.
  • The author merely implies that only with the completely learned magic of Braham can one receive the second class Legendary Great Magician. Therefore, the mastery of Braham's magic cannot be given as a confirmed reason. However, it might be a possible explanation why Grid did not become a legendary great magician. When Grid acquired Pagma's Descendant, he also acquired a bunch of legendary blacksmithing skills.
