Mercedes is the person who united the Red Knights which had been fractured due to Piaro's betrayal. Thanks to her work, the Red Knights could be maintained and stability restored. She showed bravery in wars and activities which were difficult to emulate. Mercedes was the symbol of a new era for Red Knights in Empire.[31]
She is a person with a prestigious lineage of the Saharan Empire and who has a unique insight. As she develops, her insight grows and helps her analyze and predict actions better.[32]

Mercedes actively handles various situations through the use of Keen Insight and is a balanced-type knight who raises almost all her stats.[34]She is more stable than aggressive[35] and has a perfect balance of swapping between all kinds of weapons - swords, axes, bows, shields, spears, and so on.[36] Mercedes' battle style is similar to Grid. Rather than avoiding the target's attack, she defends and fights back. Mercedes relies on weight for her sword attacks instead of speed.[37] The concept of speed is meaningless in front of her, who could read a person's attack using Keen Insight and the Incomplete Predictions passive skill.[38] She can attack the weak spots without the knowledge of the opponent.[39]
If Mercedes could grow, then she would be able to develop 'foresight.'[40] Mercedes cannot make a contract with the elementals, the creation of the gods, because the gods are wary of her power Keen Insight.[41]
Mercedes created her first Chivalric Code while having a duel against the Legendary Farmer Piaro. "One occupation isn't more noble than another. Don't be prejudiced."[42]

Mercedes' blue hair gradually turned white as she used Origin True Energy. The white hair is like shimmering moonlight.[43] After regaining her lost Origin True Energy her hair regained its original color.
Personality[]
Grid says she has a bold personality.[44] Mercedes is not embarrassed to casually show her naked body when she just starts wearing an armor. For a knight, this is the process that a knight used to wear equipment. For Mercedes it was shameful to blame the equipment. But Grid changed her mind and Mercedes created a new chivalric code to be Overgeared.[45]

Envoy from the Empire[]
Chapters 630-631
Mercedes was sent to Overgeared Kingdom as an envoy of the Saharan Empire. When she met Grid, she used her skill to see through his stats and skills, and then threatened him with sword energy to pressure his mind. But as a legend, he was not affected. Mercedes was impressed.
Mercedes was sent to discussed Grid's 'sins' against the empire which Grid had cleverly rebutted, with Lauel's guidance. She also conveyed Emperor Juander's will, asking to pay 72% of the tax revenue every month to the empire, among others. The whole encounter was to humiliate the Overgeared King Grid and put pressure on the Overgeared Kingdom.

Grid's Visit to the Empire[]
Chapters 784, 786-788
When Grid visited the empire, their power put huge pressure on him and he felt anxious. But Mercedes was even more nervous than him. She was afraid of Grid. It was because her inborn insight at understanding the talent and potential of the target couldn't measure Grid correctly. Then, Duke Limit had instructed her, with the support of Empress Marie's necromancer troops, strike Grid when he’s returning to the Overgeared Kingdom.
Mercedes and the Red Knights, together with the Immortal Guild, ambushed Grid on their way home. Grid did not want Kasim to die so he summoned the strongest power that he relied on, Piaro.
When Mercedes saw Piaro, she became emotional. But she recovered from her confusion and enormous anger filled her from the betrayal. She pulled out a second sword and her strength was revealed. Piaro used Pounding Mortar. Mercedes and the Red Knights escaped but the most the Immortal Guild turned to ash. As Mercedes challenged Piaro while the Red Knights retreated, Grid summoned Asmophel.
Asmophel confessed the truth about his betrayal of the emperor. Mercedes thought that if Asmophel was truly wicked, then Piaro wouldn't have forgiven him. The moment she realized this, she had an obligation to make the other Red Knights believe Asmophel's words. But she needed proof. She had to investigate Duke Limit and Empress Marie. She then asked for Grid's forgiveness and understanding. Grid accepted it and became excited about the outcome.
The secret of 4th Red Knight Gyuratan[]
Chapters 798-807 & 810
During Grid infiltration in Titan to revenge on Immortal Guild, she faced the Fourth Red Knight Gyuratan, exposing his identity as Astaroth and mastermind behind Piaro's false accusation. She is saved by Grid and she was convinced of Piaro's innocence. She decided to stay instead of leaving, to avoid false accusations from Astaroth. Once back she faced the 4th knight, deciding for a non-interference path.
During Grid's visit to the Tower of Eternity, Astaroth revealed himself in front of the emperor because of the weakening of lighting stone. On that occasion, Mercedes faced the Great Demon and she achieved her advancement to Legendary Knight Class.
Afterward, she revealed to the Emperor the reality about Piaro betrayal and she was dismissed from her position as Red Knight in order to reach Piaro's side. On her way to Overgeared Kingdome she met Grid and pledged loyalty to him.

Demon King Event Subjugation[]
Chapter 950
Her character is copied as one of the four heavenly knights of Demon King's Subjugation event under the name of Benz. Her appearance is changed and the power of her sight is initially sealed with a blindfold.
The woman had a large blindfold on her face that was covering her eyes, but the condition of her items was very poor. Despite being a woman, she was armed with a heavy armor set. There was a helmet with a neck protector, armor down to the thigh, and steel shoes that went up to the knees. The only parts of her body that were exposed were the lips, jaw, and hands.
Grid gets a break from the East continent
Chapter 1214
Grid comes back to the kingdom after resurrecting the black tortoise and looks around with a Hooded Zip Up that made him invisible. While on the training grounds Mercedes finds him with her Keen Insight and welcomes him back then follows it up with leaning her forehead against Grid's chest, which Grid puts his chin on her forehead accepting her clumsy embrace. Next Piaro appeared and Grid asks for a duel with the both of them. Piaro pokes a bit of fun at Mercedes hugging Grid, which she denies, and Piaro jokes a bit more with both Grid and Mercedes "Mercedes must be sad. You just embraced her only to apply for a duel".
The Great Demons' Summoning
Chapter 1250
Mercedes, Braham, Piaro fought against 25th Demon Dantalion. Mercedes made Dantalion fearful because he never encountered Keen Insight. After the battle (Ch.1258) Braham and Mercedes got first and second winning Dantalion's Sword and Dantalion's Staff respectively and they both decided to switch rewards to match their own preference. Mercedes also got another rewards getting a legendary skill "Enhancing Strength" (permanently increase strength by 10%).
Chapter 1311
Mercedes has regained her blue hair and her body has ‘evolved’ to the state where it was perfection. Grid tells her to keep her hair color meaning don’t over do it and use Origin Energy using her life force.
Chapter 1316
Visiting corkus island Grid was walking around making underwear with Mercedes next to him, happy that they could spend time together, when Grid handed her a white hair tie that had delicate threads when intertwined became armor and gave speed boost. Mercedes was thrilled to get a gift for the first time that wasn’t a sword or shield.

After marrying Basara, that night Grid and Mercedes shared a hot night together.
