A title given to those-who attained the status of a Legend once in their lives.

Information[]

The title One who Became a Legend is given to Legends, legendary characters and players who obtained a legendary class.[1] The options of the title are based on the subconcepts of a legend, 'a legend doesn't die easily', 'a legend doesn't feel fear easily' and 'a legend doesn't yield'.[2]

The first option is to resist all conditions except for ‘states that occurred due to physical force’ and ‘states that ignore resistance’. Strictly speaking, the resistance is not perfect.[3] But It lowers the probability of being affected by Abnormal States.[4] Only Madra was different who had the unique ability of ‘perfect’ status resistance among all the legends.[5]

The second option will activate an invincible state for five seconds, with a cooldown of 24 hours, when receiving a fatal blow.[6] It means to be temporarily immortal when Health is at the minimum and the legend does not die.[7] The temporary immortal body leaves one health point remaining.[8]

The third option does mean that the Affinity with NPCs can be easily increased.[9] NPCs, especially NPCs with the proper perspective, have no choice but to instinctively look up at the title holder. They are able to sense that there is a ‘great person’ simply by meeting the eyes.[10] Combined with a high Reputation, this characteristic makes it easy to communicate with Named NPCs.[11]

A Legend Doesn't Die Easily[]

At the moment of death, a legend has an immortal body. For a player, a notification window pops up that a legend doesn't die easily. It is only temporary, but a legend can resist all attacks for 5 seconds with the minimum amount of health.[12] A legend becomes invincible due to the passive activation and can survive all attacks as long as the duration of invincibility is not over. The invincible passive's cooldown time is one day. Losing the insurance is the very worst but then a legend can face the enemy in the worst situation.[13]

Players are able to receive the benefits of immortality as soon as they became a legend, but the inhabitants of Satisfy's world are different. A legend is an existence that became a legend due to the 'feats' that they built up. Legends don't die easily as long as they aren't forgotten by people. This is the background of the message that a legend doesn’t die easily. In order for legends to stay alive a long time, it is necessary for them to engage in many challenges and build up feats. For a legend it is not a wise move to stay out of dangerous situations.[14]

A Legend Doesn't Feel Fear Easily[]

A legend is characterized by being calm in any situation. And those who can calmly adapt to any situation have no fear. If a player feels afraid, a notification window emerges in front that a legend doesn't feel fear easily. Then the mind will calm down. The characteristics of Composure, Indomitable and Courage stats allows to readjust the mind. The legend shakes off the fear effect completely.[15] Even if people are aware of the horror in front of them, they may desperately want to avoid it and cannot move their weak legs. In this moment a legend is freed from fear and can move the body.[16] Since effects such as weakness and immobilizing effect originate from fear and a legend does not easily feel fear, these effects are also resisted as abnormal conditions.[17]

A Legend Doesn't Yield[]

A legend cannot be overwhelmed. Legends resist effects that dramatically lower their stats, so that they do not feel their minds and bodies shrinking, and remain perfectly fine. The abnormal states of fear and silence caused by the exposure are included because a legend never yields. The effects alone would make a legend yielding.[18]

Downsides of the Title[]

In principle, the title effects have no disadvantages, but they can indirectly become a disadvantage. A legend might be relied on the legendary class' 'resistance to all status conditions' for years and and became accustomed to it. But what happens if the immunity does not protect? Unlike others, a legend may not have acquired skills to cope with the situation. In this case, a status condition that made all actions impossible, a silence that completely banned the use of skills, and a confusion that increased the difficulty of controlling the body result in a legend being exposed to helplessness.[19]

Many may suffer from abysmal conditions, but they have acquired the ability to deal with them. A legend did not necessarily have to grow accustomed to ordinary conditions. The contradictory thing about immunity is that it is supposed to distinguish legends from others by being able to cope with any ordinary condition. But precisely because legends do not have to deal with ordinary conditions, they cannot cope with abysmal conditions that cannot be resisted.[20]

The immunity has proven to have a downside as for example with Grid.[21] In a party with non-legendary people, a legend may even have been forgotten that a loss of 40% health by an attack causes the state stunned for 3 seconds, in which a person is completely defenseless, and does not react properly.[22]

A legend may almost exclusively believe in the immortality and dare dangerous moves but the worst notification window, that the duration of immortality is over, can come up at any time.[23] Especially if a legend becomes helpless due to being in an impatient and uncomfortable state, the legend quickly forfeit the last insurance of the legendary class by the feeling of confusion and loss of coolness. In a situation where time is short, the legend may panick if it fails to link skills and motions are cancelled that is almost frustrating. So the legend would become helpless just because she does not have the cheat anymore. Whether the 5 seconds have passed or not is then no longer important.[24]

Notes[]

  • Awaiting Further Proofs: The opening of the stats Composure, Indomitable, Dignity and Insight may be based on this title. The 4 stats were opened by Grid in chapter 2 only after this title, Dexterity already at the beginning. Kraugel also began with the 4 stats in chapter 464 when he became Sword Saint after resetting to level 1, same amount as Grid in chapter 16 without Persistence increase. In Mercedes's status window in chapter 811 the 4 stats were absent, but a lot were omitted in Mercedes' status window. The opening of the 4 stats could only be the case for players. This should be considered with further legends and status windows to check them for further evidences.
  • 'A legend doesn’t die easily' seems to be a skill of the title because it is pointed out as such.[31] In several places it is declared as passive.[32]

Then comes the message that legends do not easily feel fear and then comes the message that all three status effects have been resisted. This is like a kind of explanation why legends resist these abnormal conditions.
