Pagma's Successor (파그마의 후예) is a Legendary-rated Hidden Class. It is one of the Nine Initial Legendary Classes of Satisfy and is based upon the legacy of one of the Nine Former Legends, Pagma—a Legendary Blacksmith and a Great Swordsman of previous era in Satisfy's history.

Upon becoming the Pagma's Successor, the class user would become an inherent Legendary Blacksmith—who would inherit the Blacksmithing Techniques of Legendary Blacksmith Pagma and as well as the status of a Legend after the class change. Later on, Pagma's Successor would also inherit the Swordsmanship Techniques of Pagma and many other skills with the passage of time as the quests related to the Pagma's Successor class go on.

Information[]

Pagma's Successor is a legendary production class who inherits Pagma's blacksmithing and swordsmanship skills. The disadvantage is to constantly pronounce the name of most skills.[1]

After class change, the user will gain the following:

Skills[]

Title[]

Stats[]

Description[]

[Pagma's Successor]

* The probability of adding additional options when making items will increase.

* The probability of item enhancement will increase.

* All equipment items can be worn unconditionally. However, there is a penalty depending on the rating of the item.

Other Class Effects[]

  • Blacksmith NPCs with advanced level craftsmanship skills will recognize and worship Pagma's Successor.
  • Pagma's Successor is sensitive to changes in temperature. If there is a furnace in the vicinity, they can accurately measure the temperature inside the furnace.

Failure to meet Item Restrictions[]

Although Pagma's Successor can equip all items regardless of conditions, penalties apply. However, the greater the Item Understanding, the smaller the penalties.

The penalties are:

  • Rare items have a 20% drop in basic abilities
  • Epic items have a 30% drop in basic abilities
  • Legendary items have a 55% drop in basic abilities[2]
  • Only half of the item effects are applied for all items, regardless of rating

Drawbacks[]

Despite Pagma's Successor being a special class combining the traits of both combat and production class while also benefitting from the effects of its legendary grade, the class has been said many times to be inferior in terms of combat power to the other former legendary classes[3] and also shared some very notable weaknesses that couldn't be overcome until further improvement either with its related class quests or with some specific events in the worldview of Satisfy.

  • Production button disabled : This by far is the biggest weakness Grid had to face without even knowing it. Common blacksmiths would typically press on the auto production button and let the game lead the player's avatar with some automatic moves to craft a product. As a matter of fact, Grid had to manually craft all the items he made and a single production would take at least 6 hours in his early days as a blacksmith.[4]
  • Missing character level exp. point : While it hasn't clearly been stated, Grid never managed to level up a single time after successfully crafting an item. It is commonly known that users with production classes mainly level up through their handwork yet Grid always had to kill monsters, bosses, hostile NPCs or finish quests to gain levels.
  • No combat skill mastery : Here again, Grid didn't start with any combat mastery related to his swordsmanship or his condition as a part swordsman and instead would get some similar passive effects through his Pagma's Sword Dance skill as an alternative way. Grid never managed to naturally learn a single combat skill mastery by himself[5] like sword mastery or heavy armor mastery unless he bought the skill in a specific store or learnt it through a quest.
  • No inherent swordsmanship skill / Necessary strides : Grid started as Pagma's Successor with only his blacksmith related skills. If Grid never found and accepted his class quest, he wouldn't have been any different from an "ordinary" legendary blacksmith. After learning Pagma's Sword Dance, all of Grid's sword skills were labelled with some pronounced footwork slowing the casting of his skills and even cancelling them if the steps of said footwork were to be interrupted.

Notes[]

  • It was previously translated as Pagma's Descendant because the Korean word (파그마의 후예) used by Overgeared's author meant the Pagma's Descendant in English language, not Pagma's Successor. However, it caused some problems while regarding the exact meaning in English language. Thus, it was changed by the translator from 'Pagma's Descendant' to 'Pagma's Successor' because the latter term represents the meaning better than the former. See Translator's Notes.
  • The skills given here are immediately after the class change. There are other skills and potential titles that can be obtained through the class quest Pagma's Successor (Quest). There are also some skill updates that happen when the player achieves a certain level[6].
  • Just as Braham was able to strengthen spells, Grid is able to strengthen items.[7]

The issue is that Grid momentarily lost his Pagma's Successor class which turned back to his Beginner class in chapter 364. Grid then only got his class back once the quest ended in chapter 368.
