“I... Items...”
“Items?”
"The party leader was set to acquire the items...! How could I make such a mistake?”
— Grid shivering. (Chapter 91)

An explanation of the party system in Satisfy.

Information[]

The party leader sets up the party settings like the party item distribution and invites party members.[1] The party system is one of the few systems that NPCs and Players share, so that an NPC can accept the party invitation.[2] In Satisfy, up to 24 people can join one party. Likewise, the founder of a party is the leader. Users form parties for the purpose of Raids. Regular users cannot handle powerful Monsters alone.[3] It is also natural to form a party when going hunting with others. An invite cannot simply be sent during a hunt.[4]

Since the number of members is limited, for larger raids several parties have to be involved while one party is in the lead. The leader thoroughly lectures the party members about the precautions and strategies before confronting a Boss. But the hard work is for nothing, if nobody follows it save. In the worst case, the deceased party members are resurrected at the chosen Resurrection Point. After a raid, the value of items is converted into money by dividing it according to the market price and then distributed to the party members before a party will be disbanded.[5]

Advantages and Disadvantages[]

During the party membership, the amount of Experience gained is small due to the distribution of experience points.[6] Furthermore, the low level user would not gain any experience, so that it is impossible to hunt in a party with a 35 level difference.[7] However, no experiences and items are given without a party, as only the last one receives the reward. If notification windows do not pop up as expected, a player is not in a party. Sharing experience and loot is not for everyone but at a minimum, a group should hunt together in a party.[8] The system judges who has contributed how much to a fight. Those who contribute barely will only gain a small amount of experience while others will gain a great deal.[9] Even low-level members get experience when killing a monster alone.[10]

A party is considered as one unity. All changes of Affinity are shared.[11] There are also Party buffs like Sword Saint's Aura to the advantage.[12] After entering a party, a player will received the party buffs already in effect how they already affect other members.[13] For certain AOE Skills, the party status is the only safeguard.[14] The rewards for Cooperative Quests are shared equally among all party members. If a player kills one monster, it is treated as all the party members killing one monster.[15] For players, there is also the option of the party chat window to report or discuss party-related matters. This is especially useful when the members of a party are not within talking distance.[16]

Guild Party[]

A guild party is a party whose members all belong to one Guild. There is great teamwork because in a guild party gathered people share the same ideals which is one advantage of a guild party.[17] It is possible to work together with other parties by leading them as one party. In that case, a Guild's Reputation is worsened by the death of party members who have not so good teamwork.[18]

Party Status[]

Every Party has an unique name which is usually named after the purpose of a party's founding.[19] As a party, players can confirm each other's level, but not always the class.[20] If members in a party does not trust each other, they can set their class to private. In this case, the displayed classes are just question marks. If wanted, the class can be displayed as well. The same applies to the user name.[21] In any case, the party status of each member displays Health, Mana and Stamina, as well as whether the items distribution method is correct. Especially the leader has to make sure that all party members have rested enough.[22]

Item Distribution Method[]

The item distribution method decides who receives items in a party. The party leader sets the option.[23] The method is selected before sending a party invitation according to the agreement.[24] If the distribution is set to party leader distribution, only the party leader will receive items. If there is no reliable leader, the sequential distribution may be better and fair. If the item distribution method is not changed, other party member would not receive items, so they want to change it to sequential distribution. [25]

With just keeping the party leader distribution, the leader can split the proceeds into equal shares once the party will be dissolved.[26] For this, the party leader shares the item information to all party members after evaluating the items. It tends to calm the atmosphere if there is not full trust. Usually the distribution is agreed upon in advance. So one or the other has to give up an item in order to keep the promised distribution. However, unexpected demands for certain items can also lead to surprising distributions. Not everyone recognises the true value of every item immediately.[27]

On the other hand with sequential distribution, the expensive items might be given to only one person and that is not fair either[28] or all dropped items may one-sidedly gained by only one player.[29] As long as the method of acquiring items is normal, it is impossible to secretly gain things alone.[30] Sometimes the desired and useful items may always end up in the hands of others, but an exchange is always possible. Of course, it is possible that items are then exchanged below their value but if it is an item that is worth it, a player will want it badly.[31]

If the item distribution methods is set that the party leader acquires it, all the loot will be in leader's Inventory. So there is no extra inventory for the party leader. If the amount of items obtained is significant, the inventory may be full. In this case a sequential distribution over all party members is advantageous but also an earlier distribution of the loot can solve the issue. This is something that Grid as the user with the largest inventory does not know, at least not yet.[32]
