All about resources.
Information[]
The resources consumed by a magic spell or skill is not just Mana. Depending on the type of magic and skill, it could consume Health or vitality (Stamina), all of which are labelled as resources. It is also true for the special gauges like Fighting Spirit that some combat-specialized classes possess.[1] Every resource has in common that there is a gauge for the resource in the interface.[2] Resources can be divided into standard resources and special resources. The standard resources like health, stamina and mana are available to every User, NPC or Monster from the beginning. All other resources must be unlocked first and depend on the class or are only available for a selected few.[3]
There are skills that use a specific resource and the power of these skills is much better than skills of another resource. It makes no sense to get stuck on a certain resource if you have skills for another resource that are better. Every person has different skills and specializes in certain resources.[4] Often specific resources are needed for skills. If skills require certain resources and they are not available because they have not been unlocked, skills cannot be activated. The same is true if you have too little of a resource that is needed. Under certain circumstances, different resources can be substituted for another resource.[5] Only few items like the Ring of Absurdity reduce the consumption of all resources.[6]
