Introduction[]
Sky King Rigal of the Gelder Family was the leader of the Imperial Air Force, the Gelder Air Force, which never let Rigal experience a loss until the occupation of Bairan. Rigal died at Piaro's hands during the war of the Saharan Empire against the Overgeared Kingdom because of his ego.
He was one of the few Dukes who requested Juander to pause the execution of Piaro and the fellow Red Knights as traitors, believing in Piaro as his hero. The young Rigal also liked Rachel and even once tried to delay his marriage period for her.
Appearance[]
He looked gorgeous in the air force uniform with matted silver hair and blood-like red eyes.[10]
Personality[]
Rigal is a hardworking, prideful and spoiled Imperial noble with an extremely narrow patriotic fantasy about the Saharan Empire. Even when he was aware he had lesser talent than his elder brother (Gelder's Original Heir), Rigal worked hard to become a strong human worthy as a member of the Dukes of the Saharan Empire. However, this was supported by his egotistic perspective of the world at face value and his false belief of the Saharan Empire as an upper species over the small 'slave' kingdoms.
Due to his Imperial indoctrine when young, Duke Rigal did not notice the corruptive tyranny within the Empire as it gradually accumulating into a volatile climax that might lead to his homeland's complete destruction. He even initially misunderstood Jude as simple enough to be worthy as Rigal's knight when in reality Jude hated him. Rigal was acceptable to enslaving innocent villagers just because they were not members of the Saharan Empire.
Rigal was also addicted to participating in over 39 wars over 17 years just to build up his achievements.[11]

Story[]
Chapters 784-785
Chapters 999-1003'
Obsessed with building up achievements, Rigal led the Gelder Air Force to Bairan as an opportunity in the war against the Overgeared Kingdom. In less than half a day they were able to penetrate through the anti-air surveillance and occupied Bairan to capture enemies and destroy everthing. After Overgeared King Grid appeared through Mass Teleport, Rigel couldn't pass up this opportunity to eliminate the enemy leader. A deadly mistake, the Gelder Air Force was annihilated by Grid as the later summoned Mercedes and Piaro.
Notes[]
- Sky King Rigal’s class was a rider, and his main weapon was a large bow greatbow). His archery skills were like a reaper’s scythe as he climbed onto his ancient wyvern Allentica and fired from an altitude of 800 meters. Anybody targeted by Rigal would die, but now the situation was different. Currently, Rigal was on the ground. He couldn’t take advantage of the rider class, and the whip in his hand was normally used to train his wyvern.
- Rigal’s archery was the complete opposite of Jishuka’s archery. Unlike Jishuka’s arrows which were invisible and couldn’t be heard by the ears, Rigal’s arrows overwhelmed the opponent with energy.
- It is known that Rigal became rather recent to a duke. So it may be that at the time of the story in chapter 635 in which Limit was introduced as one of the six dukes - not seven - Rigal's brother died and Rigal was not yet appointed as a duke.
