Information[]

Smith is a blacksmith in Bairan. His master was once the best blacksmith in the north before Khan appeared. Unlike his master, Smith was not talented. He wanted to become an intermediate blacksmith, reminded himself of his mentor's teachings, and repeatedly trained in controlling fire and iron every day, but his abilities did not increase. He remains a beginner blacksmith for 50 years until a moment before Grid's second visit.[2]

Although he is a beginner blacksmith, he taught Grid how to be a better blacksmith, including the production method for a jaffa arrow. During the teaching process, he became attracted to Grid.

Personality[]

Smith is kind and willing to teach others. His generous nature reminds Grid of his own grandfather. His admiration for him, however, takes Grid as gay tendencies.

Appearance[]

Smith is fit and has solid muscles on his upper body due to his occupation as a blacksmith.

Skills[]

Smith was a beginner blacksmith but he crossed the wall that had been blocking him for 50 years when he recreated the Special Jaffa Arrow from Grid. His last desperate effort has been rewarded with Enlightenment and he has finally overcome the limitations. Smith rose all the way to an advanced blacksmith due to the enlightenment of one night.[3]

Story[]

Chapter 13-18[]

Grid enters his smithy to learn and sell profitable items. As a beginner blacksmith, Smith does not recognize Grid as Pagma's Descendant, so he gives Grid the quest Chop Firewood. When Grid reports that he hacked 1,000 firewoods, Smith has doubts about him and only by Grid showing his woodcutting technique, he is convinced that Grid has broken his record. Still somewhat doubtful, Smith entrusts Grid with the quest Mine Iron Ore. When Grid reported having harvested 170 iron ores and broke his record again, Smith decided to recognize Grid as a capable blacksmith and teach him how to make Jaffa Arrows. Smith, surprised by Grid's skills, leaves Grid with all 100 Jaffa Arrows made by Grid instead of the promised 50. He even thinks of Grid as Pagma's reincarnation, but not as the successor, and liked him so much that he did not want to let Grid go.

Chapter 152[]

Smith is feeling sad as he remembers all the times he was judged as incompetent. Still, he didn't feel like giving up. He started imitating the moves of the blacksmith he had met long ago. His finished product is a complete Special Jaffa Arrow. He receives enlightenment and becomes a higher tier blacksmith. While he's admiring it, a Yatan follower invades his smithy and says he will die. Smith readies himself for death, but he is instead saved by Grid. The legendary blacksmith acknowledges his work, which pleases Smith. He decides he wants to continue to live his blacksmith life. Grid uses Blacksmith's Affection, raising his skill level and extending his lifespan by 30 years.

Notes[]

  • Smith has great admiration for Grid. That's why Grid thinks he's gay. Since all the statements are from Grid's point of view, it can not be said with certainty that he is gay. It can be one of many misunderstandings.[4]
