Tailoring Technique is the equivalent for Tailors in comparison to Blacksmith's Craftsmanship for Blacksmiths. Grid acquired it from Fatima.

Tailoring is as difficult as blacksmithing. The techniques are not easily to learn and among them, the Underwear Production Method requires a high Dexterity and intermediate level tailoring skill. The learning difficulty is also high. However, with high concentration and dexterity as well as infinite tenacity, it does not matter and will probably be mastered since compared to others it is not lacking. As a tailor the people can make every individual item by hand and as a player by pressing a production button.[1] The production buttons for cloth items and leather items create then instantly an item. However, the quality of items is low.[2] In general, tailor items made by players are only a bit better than the items sold in the usual village stores.[3] The items produced range from daily clothes[4] and work equipment to usable cloth armors.[5]

A tailor's studio is completely different from a busy and chaotic smithy. The tailor's workshop is calm, without the noisy sound of hammering and the heat. The smell of leather, instead of iron, fills the air. It is a tranquil and relaxing place since the most important factor when working with cloth and leather is concentration.[6] In order to produce plausible results when making one item, more than two different types of fabrics cannot be simply handled under concentration. The intention is to retain the characteristics of the many fabrics when dividing them into specific forms and then sewing them together without making it seem like it.[7] Each type of fabric has different strength. Several types of fabrics cannot be cut simultaneously with ordinary scissors, knives and needles. A measuring tape[8] and chisels also belong to the tailoring tools.[9]

Interdisciplinary Use of Tailoring Techniques as a Blacksmith[]

A blacksmith is specialized in smelting minerals or making leather goods and not cloths. But an unconventional blacksmith such as Pagma's Descendant is also capable of making cloth-based items using thin and close to cloth material that should be more for a tailor.[10] However, the items that can be made are limited. A blacksmith cannot produce cloth items and eventually consumes the finite creation skill. The overall knowledge is still lacking as the different ‘types’ of available production methods are very limited. There is no way to make the needed cloth clothing in large quantities. In order to expand the foundation as a blacksmith it is needed to learn various types of production methods for tailoring. Once learned how to make cloth armor and handle cloth, it will no longer be needed to consume the creation skill when making cloth type items in the future.[11]

After learning the Tailoring Technique the possibilities for development are greater. If the techniques get to the point where a blacksmith can combine blacksmithing and tailoring, the foundation as a blacksmith will expand exponentially. But it is still difficult to utilize the tailoring technique when the gap between the tailoring skill and blacksmith skill is too large. In order to maintain quality, the combination of tailoring and blacksmithing requires skills at a similar level. The lower tailoring technique is likely to degrade the quality of the work. The level of the tailoring skill must be raised to the point where it can be combined with blacksmithing. Since it is difficult enough to improve the blacksmithing skills, it makes little sense to improve the tailoring skills. This is almost crazy. It cannot be measured how many cloth clothing must be produced. This forces past the level of labor so it is natural to curse, as there is no end in sight.[12]

  • It is unknown whether the two different production buttons have different view conditions. Grid immediately acquired the intermediate level. It is possible that an additional button is enabled with rising skill.
  • The production buttons were described in such a way that they instantly create an item. For blacksmiths it has been described that the time for the production process depends on dexterity and skill level, between a minimum of 5 minutes and 6 hours. It is possible that Grid only tailors items instantly because he has so much dexterity.[21]
  • During a SNC the number one Tailor won a gold medal. It is unknown who that is.[22]
  • Kruger's tailoring tools consisting of Kruger's Scissors and Knife, Kruger's Measuring Tape and Kruger's Needle increase the total tailoring speed by 45%. It is said that this doubles the number of items produced in the same time. Purely from the statement this is wrong, but Kruger's tools simply cut everything that normal tools can't. The author adds this as an addition only after the statement.[23]
