Information[]

In the setting of Satisfy, users are immortal cursed existences where the cost of death is not big[1] while NPCs have only one life.[2] NPCs are fully aware that users will resurrect if they were killed by them. For this reason, the NPCs think it is better to put them in prison if the users saw and heard things that should not get out. Imprisoned for longer than anticipated, players would waste time and fall behind others. Some might have to put down the business card called a 'Ranker.'[3] Except for this special case of situation, no matter how big the crime, a user cannot be locked up in prison for more than three days.[4]

Appearance[]

Satisfy's character is not perfect fiction. When a character is created, it actually reflects the user's real appearance. Only the skin tone and additional features such as hairstyle, tattoos, scars, and height can be changed a little bit. It is to keep the immersion of Satisfy's freedom and reality. In other words, a beautiful person in Satisfy is generally beautiful in reality.[5] However, the player's appearance can be slightly different since it doesn't reflect aging.[6]

Death Penalty[]

Death in Satisfy is dreadful. It is a huge penalty to players. The experience loss is in proportion to Level and there is also the possibility of dropping some items in possession. The worst is dropping Equipment Items. Basically, the value of the equipment item is high. If players lost the valuable item they used as their main power, their strength would be reduced, depressing the mood. The probability of dropping equipment items is only around 1%. When a player dies, the drop rate of equipment items is quite low, but according to some players with bad luck, it is actually 50%. It is frustrating when more than half of a party's members have dropped equipment items to feel extreme guilt when some lost their main items.[7]

Dropping an item is a problem, but dropped items are not destroyed. They literally existed in the place where they fell. However, dropping is a problem due to the users of Satisfy. Since it is impossible to block a user from the hunting grounds, it is almost impossible to regain an item once it is dropped. By the time players resurrected and ran to the place where the item dropped, the item is not present anymore. It is because another user took it. The loss is no big deal if players with a loss have complete control of a hunting ground to retrieve quickly the items who are still there. However, if the killer is encountered again before all items are collected, players are likely to be killed. It is a good idea to move as secretly as possible until players manage to collect the items. No one would forget the point where their precious items are dropped.[8]

Friends[]

Players can request to be an other player's friend. After acceptance, a friend appears in the friend list. Players can individually set what information is displayed in open mode, such as level and affiliation. Providing information encourages others to reveal it themselves. It is a process to determine if they are a trustworthy person.[9]

Satisfy is a game enjoyed by two billion players. Duplicate IDs are allowed. The possibility that an known name means exactly the known famous person is close to zero.[10] When a friend request is made, it does not address the username, as there are several usernames that are the same. The request is addressed with the username, followed by two # and a number indicating the how many times the name was used when the account was created. For example, Resh##3 was the third person to create the username Resh. A single-digit number therefore indicates that the player is an early player in Satisfy.[11]

Limitations[]

There is a limit for players. No matter how they raise their stats or apply magic and buffs, there are still system limitations that cannot be overcome. A typical example is attack speed and movement speed. Unless it is an attack or mobile device implemented with a skill or magic, a player's basic attacks are limited to 'six times per second' and general movement speed is limited to '18 meters per second.'[14]

Once players learn about this, they feel it is impractical and frustrating. Even if they continue to work hard to grow and achieve great results, they would eventually be bound by the limitations. This cause players to feel great frustration. This frustration that they would never be the best as players somewhat dampen players enthusiasm. However, the limits can be overcome. The sight of transcending the limits eradicates the frustration and disillusionment rooted deep in the heart. There is the concept of Transcendent. Players will realize there is no need to feel despair and shrink back in front of the limitations they have yet to encounter.[15]

Bus[]

Bus is a term used for high level users raising a low level user. In Satisfy, it is impossible to hunt in a Party with a 35 level difference, because the low level user would not gain any Experience.[16] In other online games, high level players helping low level players raising their level but in Satisfy it means low level players helping high level players. The situation is reversed, but it is an appropriate term. When many low level player are in a party with one high level player, the high level player would monopolize most of the experience from the Monsters due to the difference in levels. So the low level player would just join a party to help.[17]

That is why a bus in Satisfy means that a particularly strong player at the forefront makes the hunt easier for the other colleagues. One strong person is a decisive cause for the fact that hunting is several times faster and safer. When experiencing such a bus, players cannot help but feel attracted to the pleasure of such a bus.[18] The levelling speed may drop little by little and it might be hard to gain one level but the hunting speed is different from what hunting experts expect.[19]

Not many players have the advantage of strong NPCs to assist them in the role of the bus driver and being the only passenger.[20] Of course it is possible to hire a soldiers' bus with Gold, but that is expensive and the number of soldiers is limited.[21] In the end, players should not forget to reward the bus driver.[22]

In extremely rare cases, Bus may also mean that a player reaches a status that would normally only be possible with a lot of effort and long playing. For example, every ranker would find it absurd if someone with level 1 would ascend to the rank of a Noble, just because a player was a member of the right party.[23]

Login Restrictions[]

Users are permitted to play Satisfy for up to 20 hours per session. Upon reaching this amount, the user will be ejected and unable to login for six hours.[24] There is also a penalty for dying. If a players dies twice in one day, they cannot login for the rest of the day.[25]
